Different Types of Support

Case management and advocacy services focus on providing practical support with life’s difficult circumstances. Sometimes what is most helpful is having an experienced, dedicated profession to look at a situation with you objectively, discuss options, and help you move forward with whatever issue needs to be addressed. Sometimes this may include speaking, or advocating, on your behalf. In other situations it may be more strategy focused, supporting you to advocate on your own behalf.

Case management/advocacy can seem to overlap with therapy at times, but they are two distict services and will not be provided for the same person at the same time.  Therapy is more about analyzing, processing, and adjusting internal experiences and behaviors whereas case management and advocacy is more about understanding external systems, developing a voice, and being able to speak up for your wants and needs.  Similar at times, but distinct services.
